How to Send A Copy of Google Form Responses to Your Email

Last updated on October 14, 2020

One useful feature of Google Forms is that it can be configured to automatically send a copy of each response to the person who submitted it.

That sounds pretty helpful UNTIL you realize you don't really have an option to:

Unless, there's a tool to make ALL of that possible...

Enters, Form Octo

Form Octo is an automation tool that closely integrates with Google Forms and allows you to customize the way notification emails are sent out when your Google Forms are submitted.

With Form Octo, you can:

1. Customize the email message that gets sent out.

To start, go through our 3-step guide and connect your form. This won't cost a dime until you send out 100 emails.

Once your form is connected, you can write and format your content exactly the way you want.

You can also use merge tags to include values from your form inside the email template:

Merge Tags
If your Google Form includes a Name field, you could use the word {{Name}} inside your template, and that, will be automatically replaced with the Name of your respondent when the email gets sent out. {{Name}} is a merge tag.

2. Send a copy of your Google Forms responses to any number of emails.

On top of that, Form Octo also enables you to send out this email to as many addresses as you intend to. All you need to do is to separate them with commas:

matt@example.com,roy@example.com

If your Google Form includes an email field — and let's say it's called Your Email — you can include it as a merge tag inside the To field of your template as well:

matt@example.com,roy@example.com,{{Your Email}}

3. Whitelabel the email the way you want it.

When using templates from Form Octo you can customize and brand your email the way you want it. There is no branding from us and you're not required to include Google's branding.

Does this help address the problems you're trying to solve? Let us know if you have any questions at all. We'll be glad to help!
